About HTAN

The Hunter Trainers & Assessors Network (HTAN) is a not-for-profit organisation for anyone working within the training industry.

The objectives of HTAN are:

To share information, support members to be at the cutting edge of Vocational Education and Training (VET)

To link in with other networks (for the benefit of members)

To encourage and support members with current skills in workplace training and assessment

The HTAN Committee is a team of volunteers who work within the training industry. Their role is to meet the objectives, as outlined above. The objectives are met through the coordination of the bi-monthly HTAN Breakfasts and other professional development workshops and events.

May 27 Wine, Cheese & NLP Tasting SUCCESS!

The above event was held on Wednesday 27th May at Bimet Lodge.

Guest speaker: Samantha McDonald from Aussie Wine Group Direct, our wine sponsor, who hosted a wine and cheese tasting while introducing us to Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP)

Samantha was a finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year awards in 2007. She is a past President of the International Coach Federation Sydney Chapter, a Certified NLP Trainer, Workplace Trainer, Master NLP Practitioner (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Master Sequential Mind Technology Practitioner, and Hypnotherapist.
Samantha is also a career expert for the Seek.com.au (career resources) website, has provided expert information for magazines such as Cleo and Cosmopolitan, and is sought as a guest speaker at events. She has also been a regular contributor to Women's Health & Fitness Magazine, and is featured in Dale Beaumont's book, "Secrets of Success Coaches Exposed" . All of this whilst running around after her beautiful daughter, Tiana.

In recognition of the important contribution the trainer & assessor makes to a successful learning experience, the Hunter Trainers and Assessors Network (HTAN) is proud to sponsor the Nick Magriplis Award for Outstanding Trainer of the Year.

The annual award will be announced in conjunction with the Hunter Regional Apprenticeship and Traineeship Awards and is open to all eligible VET trainers and assessors in the Hunter.
